Kellogg's was founded in 1906 by Will Keith Kellogg (originally as the Battle Creek Toasted Corn Flake Company). Starting with Kellogg's Toasted Corn Flakes it was renamed the Kellogg Company in 1922.
Rice Krispies (which is also called Rice Bubbles) is a Kellogg’s breakfast cereal which was launched in 1928. It is made of toasted rice and sugar paste (‘crisped rice’). The resultant thin, crisp, shells collapse when milk is introduced, creating the famous "Snap, crackle and pop" sounds. The cereal is very well known, partly from its successful advertising, in which Snap, Crackle, and Pop (three animated characters created by Vernon Grant in the 1930s) promote the brand. The Rolling Stones also recorded a short song for a Rice Krispies television advertisement in 1963.
