Kellogg's was founded in 1906 by Will Keith Kellogg (originally as the Battle Creek Toasted Corn Flake Company). Starting with Kellogg's Toasted Corn Flakes it was renamed the Kellogg Company in 1922.
Corn Flakes (or Cornflakes, if you prefer), has been a hugely popular breakfast cereal for over a century. Made by toasting flakes of corn, it was created by Dr. John Harvey Kellogg to be a healthy food for patients of the Sanitarium where he was superintendent. The popularity led to production for the wider public in 1906. Many mascots have served Kellogg's Cornflakes, but the most popular is a green rooster called Cornelius Rooster (Corny).
