Kellogg's was founded in 1906 by Will Keith Kellogg (originally as the Battle Creek Toasted Corn Flake Company). Starting with Kellogg's Toasted Corn Flakes it was renamed the Kellogg Company in 1922.
Known variously as Cocoa Krispies, Choco Krispis, Choco Krispies, Coco Pops, or Choco Pops, it is best known as Coco Pops in the UK and is a breakfast cereal produced by Kellogg's. A cocoa-flavoured version of Rice Krispies, its chocolate flavour coating is said to turn any overlaid milk "chocolatey”. Introduced in the US in 1958 and the UK in 1961, the name changed to "Coco Krispies" in the late sixties, and Choco Krispies in the late nineties, but both times reverted to Coco Pops. Mr. Jinks was the original mascot, then Sweep (from The Sooty Show). However, Coco the Monkey was introduced 1963, and he remains the best-known character.
